A ghat is a broad flight of steps that is situated on an Indian riverbank and that provides access to the water especially for bathing.


Kolkata is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal and is also nicknamed the "City of Joy". It is the seventh most populous city. The city had a population of 4.5 million, while the population of the city and its suburbs was 14.1 million, making it the third-most populous metropolitan area in India.
